Abby Guyer: Xcelerate Women
This month we're happy to welcome Abby Guyer, Executive Director of Xcelerate Women, an organization that helps women overcome systematic inequities to grow their business and build economic power now.
Abby Guyer is a creative strategist and brand builder who is passionate about people, culture, and trends. Over an extensive marketing career in fashion, sports, retail, hospitality, and design, she has developed and led teams, campaigns, and partnerships for global consumer brands, design agencies and their clients, and social impact organizations in both for-profit and nonprofit settings.
As language evolves, so has our definition of women.
Our commitment to addressing structural disparities and challenging dominant norms hasn’t changed. But in the spirit of inclusivity and continued learning, the way we regard gender has. We’re striving for equitable access to business ownership—for an even wider range of marginalized people.

Reiko Cordeiro is Union Gospel Mission’s new Women’s LifeChange Director. Reiko is a licensed professional counselor in Oregon, and has been working alongside the men, women and children in the LifeChange residential recovery programs for nearly ten years. “It’s a privilege to have a front-row seat to the healing and transformational change God is working in people’s lives.”
Originally from Waikiki, Hawaii, Reiko moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2011 after completing her BA in Psychology at UCLA in Los Angeles (2004) and her MA in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley (2011). She enjoys her peace-filled life in Hillsboro with her husband, Paul and their fur-teens—Luna (Blue Heeler), and Bella (domestic long-hair cat).
