Steve Higgs: Building Bridges Across Differences
This month we're happy to welcome Steve Higgs, the Executive Director of SAGE, to help us understand and develop strategies for dealing with today’s political climate.

What individuals and organizations can do to build bridges across differences
Please join Steve to learn what can be done to bridge differences, so communities can move forward in a productive way and solve problems. Doing so has probably never been more important.
Steve Higgs is the Executive Director of SAGE (Senior Advocates for Generational Equity). SAGE inspires older adults to give forward, so that younger and future generations can thrive. The organization works across generations because we need each other and the future needs all the advocates it can get. SAGE sponsors several initiatives, including the Citizen Project, which offers events to bring people together across differences to solve problems.

Reiko Cordeiro is Union Gospel Mission’s new Women’s LifeChange Director. Reiko is a licensed professional counselor in Oregon, and has been working alongside the men, women and children in the LifeChange residential recovery programs for nearly ten years. “It’s a privilege to have a front-row seat to the healing and transformational change God is working in people’s lives.”
Originally from Waikiki, Hawaii, Reiko moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2011 after completing her BA in Psychology at UCLA in Los Angeles (2004) and her MA in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley (2011). She enjoys her peace-filled life in Hillsboro with her husband, Paul and their fur-teens—Luna (Blue Heeler), and Bella (domestic long-hair cat).
